Lowering the voting age is a horrible idea.  From the lack of maturity to impulsivity, our teens do not have the life experience and critical thinking skills to see the long-term consequences of voting.  

In addition, they are easily swayed and very impressionable as they are subject to emotional manipulation and peer pressure  — specifically from peers and people of authority.  

Children in this age bracket need to focus on academics and our election system should not be subject to the uninformed voting populous.
